To reduce the size of your file, you can edit the photo in your favorite photo editing software. The simplest method of reducing the file size is to "crop" the photo. Whereby, you are cutting out areas of the photo that surround the subject of the photo.

Another method is to reduce the actual size of the photo. The ideal photo size should be about 800x600 pixels. Most digital cameras and/or scanners create a picture somewhere around 2000x1600 pixels. In your photo editing editing software, select the option that allows the photo to be reduced by "x" percent. Start by reducing the photo by 50%. This will likely be sufficient to create the ideal photo/file size.
